"This page should probably be more appropriately titled, 'Sunsets and Sunrises'.  When in the field, I usually camp, awakening before dawn in order to catch the early light.  I have learned not to try to predict how good an event such as a sunset will be.  Each day is different, and often times the more cloud cover there is, the more interesting and dramatic a sunrise/sunset will be.   The best ones are truly rare, such as that "once-a-year" event.  Extensive time in the field greatly increases one's chances of being at the right place at the right time, and even that's no guarantee.  However, each beautiful day that I experience in the field is truly a blessing."
