"It was Maine's Katahdin and Baxter State Park that first drew me to wild, open space.  My first mountain above treeline, Katahdin will always be my favorite.  There is an uncanny similarity between the summits of our eastern alpine peaks and the rolling tundra hills of the subarctic.  With milder winters than Alaska, I call Maine my home year-round  As you can see from the above images, I enjoy photography in Maine throughout the four seasons, however, I must admit my favorite times are just before and during leaf-out and during the peak of autumn.  Nature's energy is incredibly intense and dynamic during the spring and fall, and it's at these times that I feel most alive."
