In 1996, I went to Alaska to become a Tour Naturalist in Denali National Park.  Taken by the extraordinary beauty of Denali, I returned to the Park each spring for the next three years.  Denali is a place that haunts you.  Your jaw literally drops open at the sight of Mt. McKinley when it comes out of the clouds after five days of rain.  You can be socked in at Wonder Lake for days on end, and then suddenly one evening, there's this red glow about 45 degrees above the horizon.  Everyone starts pointing and exclaiming "There's the Mountain!! It's coming out!!"  It's at that moment that you realize you are standing inside one of the earth's most beautiful scenes.
